How many pilot ranks does TUI Virtual Group have?
Eight: Trainee (0 to 15 flight hours), Second Officer (15 to 40), First Officer (40 to 65), Senior First Officer (65 to 100), Captain (100 to 175), Senior Captain (175 to 300), VA Specialist (300 to 700) and Commander (700 hours and over).
How do I get promoted?
Promotions are based on the flight hours you log with us. Each rank covers a range of hours, and you move up as soon as you pass the top of your current rank.
Which aircraft can a Trainee fly?
Trainees fly the Embraer E190 and the Boeing 737-800. Second Officers add the Boeing 737 MAX 8 and 737-700, First Officers the Boeing 787-8, and Captains the 787-9. VA Specialists and Commanders can fly all nine aircraft, including the Boeing 757-200, 767-300ER and Airbus A320.
When can I fly codeshare routes?
Each of our 17 codeshare partners unlocks at a rank. Ryanair and easyJet open at Second Officer, Finnair at VA Specialist, and the last two, Cathay Pacific and Garuda Indonesia, open at Commander.
Do aircraft restrictions apply to events?
No. Aircraft restrictions don't apply to TUI Virtual Group events, so anyone taking part can fly the event aircraft.
